Welcome Alumni,

Each of you are a window into the children's future. Your footprints are still alive within SS. Cyril and Methodius Parish School. While each of our Alumni have gone on to bigger and broader challenges, the heart of your home is still here at SSCM school. Your choice to keep SSCM Parish School as a part of your life makes you an example of the message that we sending to our children and their families. You have made a choice to continue taking an interest in the children that now walk through those same halls today. They count on you to continue to make a difference for them the way SSCM Parish School has made for you. As you are aware it is tuition and generous donations that will keep our school open for many more children to come through our doors and be part of our incredible academic program with Jesus as our center. We are a choice that needs to remain as a visible part of our community.

As an alumni of SSCM parish school, you have the distinct honor and joy of being able to give back to the very school that nurtured you as a child and enabled you to open doors to your future. What better time than Thanksgiving and the holidays to let our children know how important they are while teaching them their own future responsibility to the place they call home. Won't you please consider a donation of $5.00 or more to the alumni association so that the alumni association will able to continue to grow and work wonders for our children. Your donations will enable us to continue to provide scholarships to our graduates who attend a Catholic high school, purchasing of school supplies, etc. Please send your donation now so that we can include your name in our parish bulletin in time for the holidays, giving thanks to our alumni who are keeping God alive in our youth by supporting Catholic education at SSCM parish school.

This past June, the Alumni Association was proud to present two graduating students with the first annual Good Shepherd Award. This award was given to one boy and one girl who has shown a spiritual growth over his/her school years at SS. Cyril and Methodius school. These two students have participated in both school & parish community services. They have done their very best in all academic areas and are now attending a catholic high school. The two graduate students both wrote wonderful essays discussing why they felt they deserved this special award. They both discussed how their personal experience at SSCM had fostered the spirit of stewardship that will contiune throughout their lives. We were very proud to present each student with a $150.00 check to the catholic high school of their choice.

As part of Catholic Schools Week, Sts. Cyril and Methodius School is proud to present the National Catholic Education Association Distinguished Graduate Award to an alumnus who graduated from the school at least ten years ago. This person should exhibit the qualities of Catholic Education and show a contribution to American life and/or the Catholic Church. Nomination forms are currently available in the Parish Center. Please complete and return the form to the Parish Center, ATTN: SSCM School Alumni, by December 8, 2006. The recipient will be notified and the award will be presented at the Catholic Schools Week Mass.

NCEA Distinguished Graduate Award

This award is intended to honor graduates of Catholic elementary/middle schools who have made a contribution to American life and/or the Catholic Church. The recipient must have graduated from the Catholic elementary/middle school at least ten years prior to presenting the award. The individual school selects the awardees’ and NCEA confirms the nomination.
